NHL Commi sioner Gary Bettman is dismi sing the likelihood of relocating struggling teams in Arizona and Florida. Earlier reports suggested that Panthers ownership wasattempting to move the franchise to one of two locations in eager pursuit of a hockey team, Quebec City or Las Vegas. "There's nothing imminent that's happening," at the owners' meetings in Boca Raton, just north of where the Panthers have played torecord-low crowds this season. "In fact to the contrary, Vinny Viola, both as a matter of his resources and his personal commitment Jeter Downs Jersey , has consistently told me that he's committed to South Florida. "Nobody should be focusing on the Panthers as a relocation candidate, period. It's inconsistent with everything we believe and it's inconsistent with everything Vinny Viola has been telling me and he has no intention of moving the club." Together, the Panthers and Broward County sharea 30-year lease forBB&T Center in Sunrise thatexpires in 2028. The Panthers requested the county tovote on a deal thatwould allow them a $78.4 million buyout. Although the county disputed thosefigures,both sides continue their efforts to reach a consensus. In July2013,just one vote by the Glendale City Council stopped Arizona frompotentiallymoving to Las Vegas. "Arizona and Florida aren't moving," said deputy commi sioner Bill Daly, who added that both franchises are in fact stable. "I'm not sure (a franchise) is unstable if you have local deep ownership and they're satisfied with their investment. Teams go through cycles. Teams go through phases.
